After 4 weeks of carefully growing the seeds and monitoring them under the grow lights, the seedlings are almost ready to be transplanted. The night temperature for this coming weekend will be above 50. GREAT!
Last year all my seedlings died because I didn't know I needed to harden off the seedlings before transplanting them outdoors. Hardening off is a process of gradually introducing the seedlings to the outdoor environment.
Yesterday I took them out for two hours in the shade. Today, two hours under the sun. Tomorrow, I'm adding another hour, so they'll get three hours of sun. And another hour the following day, so by this Saturday, they would be strong enough to be under the sun for the full day. I'm excited to finally get the show started!
